NUILab Help
Inventory
The lab's equipment inventory — add gear, track where it is and who has it, print barcode labels, and keep the data tidy. Runs on Snipe-IT.
The lab keeps track of its equipment — headsets, cameras, laptops, sensors, cables — in Snipe-IT, an inventory system we run ourselves. Each piece of gear gets an entry, a barcode label, and a record of where it lives and who has borrowed it.
These pages cover the everyday tasks. If you just want to log a new piece of equipment, start with Adding equipment. The rest cover locations and check-outs, printing labels, loading a batch of gear from a spreadsheet, and the naming conventions that keep everyone’s entries consistent.
Can’t find a device’s serial number? That has its own section, with a page per device family: Serial numbers .

Adding equipment
Log a piece of gear in the inventory — the model-vs-asset idea, the two ways to add something, and the fields that matter.
InventoryLocations and loans
Record where equipment lives, check items out to people, and see who has what right now.
InventoryLabels and scanning
Every asset has a QR code and barcode. How to print labels on the Zebra ZD421, which label rolls to buy, and how to scan with the handheld reader or your phone.
InventoryImporting from a spreadsheet
Load a batch of equipment at once from a CSV instead of adding items one by one.
InventoryNaming conventions
The categories, model names, statuses, and ownership values we use — so everyone's entries stay consistent.
