Keyboard shortcuts (moving from Slack)

Coming from Slack? Most of your muscle memory carries over. Below are the common macOS shortcuts (use Ctrl in place of ⌘ on Windows/Linux). In the app, press ⌘ / anytime to see Mattermost’s full built-in list.

⚠️ Same key, different result — the traps

⌘⇧A — in Slack opens All Unreads; in Mattermost it opens Settings. For unread channels in Mattermost, use ⌥⇧↑ / ⌥⇧↓ (or ⌘⇧U).
Search moved from ⌘G to ⌘⇧F.

Finding a channel by name

Mattermost’s top search bar searches messages and files, not channel names. To find a channel by name, use ⌘K (type a few letters) or Browse Channels — see Using lab chat .
